Summary of the Role

  • The Speech/Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing and treating speech/language and swallowing disorders.
  • Services are provided to patients in various settings including rehabilitation units, acute care hospitals, outpatient facilities, and home health agencies.
  • The goal is to help patients achieve their maximum potential and reintegrate into society by adapting to their capabilities.
  • Work is carried out in alignment with the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage, and Avera's values of hospitality, compassion, and stewardship.
  • Adherence to regulatory standards and Catholic Religious Directives is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of a Master's degree.
  • Prior experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is preferred.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

  • Must be licensed by the State of South Dakota.
  • ASHA Certification is mandatory.
  • BLS Certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.

Working Hours

  • Varied Shifts; 64 hours per fortnight

Salary

The hourly rate for this position falls within the specified range. Actual rate depends on individual experience.
