A leading private equity firm is looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Senior Developer with expertise in Web Application development to join their team and lead the creation of an innovative financial reporting software platform. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, this role is pivotal in executing their strategic roadmap and ensuring the platform's success. The ideal candidate is a dynamic "player-coach," with aspirations to advance into a VP of Engineering role for a large-scale enterprise platform deployed across organizations nationwide. They should have extensive experience with API integrations and a proven ability to lead development efforts. While contractors will assist in building the platform, the ultimate responsibility for the platform's architecture, development, and quality lies with this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and architecture of a cutting-edge financial reporting software platform.
- Collaborate with the Head of SaaS, lead engineers, and the product team to align development efforts with the strategic roadmap.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable backend code using Python and SQL.
- Build and maintain responsive front-end components with JavaScript and React.
- Ensure platform security, reliability, and performance under varying workloads.
- Design the platform for scalability and seamless integration with third-party systems and APIs.
- Mentor and guide contractors and junior developers to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to deliver a high-quality, user-centric product.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous platform improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in Web Application Development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record as a Full Stack Developer/Architect with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
- Experience working within Agile frameworks.
- Expertise in cloud computing, ideally AWS.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong knowledge of database design and management principles.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Business Analysts, and UI/UX Designers.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor teams and drive collaborative success.
- Experience in open banking is a significant advantage.
