NextGen Federal Systems | Aircraft Structures Mechanic

NextGen’s Aircraft Structures Mechanic (Sheet Metal) activities include supporting Contractor Field Teams (CFT) to perform aircraft modification preparations, fabrication, and installation of advanced communications packages on Department of Defense aircraft (KC-135).
Aircraft structures (sheet metal) mechanics fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair the metal parts of an aircraft. Technicians will be required to use specialized equipment, tools, and fixtures per appropriate federal aviation regulations, manufacturer's recommendations, industry technical manuals, and standards as well as government technical orders and directives. Technicians will be required to read, comprehend, and execute technical work instructions, drawings, and blueprints.
Aircraft Structural Mechanics should have experience with assembling structural parts and components to meet requirements for preserving structural integrity, along with the ability to install aircraft mechanical and/or avionic systems, sensors, and antennas. They will ensure aircraft component balance is maintained and assembled using special fasteners and adhesives as well as check installation for serviceability according to specifications and technical publications. This work may include painting aircraft. They will use metalworking equipment and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten communication packages to existing aircraft structures.
This position requires the ability to obtain and possess a U.S. Government Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
