Avionics Technician

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking an Avionics Technician to support our United States Air Force customer with the design, fabrication, and installation of modification packages on Department of Defense aircraft (KC-135 experience preferred). Depending on individual core avionics or electrical skills and experience, technicians initially perform work for avionics wire harness production and on-aircraft installations, or they will perform modifications and repairs to aircraft.
• A minimum of 3 years on-the-job experience in any electro-mechanical disciplines, including electrician, security systems, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, telephony, computer network infrastructure, etc.
• Aviation avionics training from a technical trade or military technical school is expected.
• A Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is also desired.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and possess a U.S. Government Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred
JOB LOCATION: Rickenbacker ANGB OH (Columbus OH)
CERTIFICATION: FAA Certified Preferred – Airframe & Powerplant (A&P)
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of USAF Aircraft Maintenance experience using AFI 21-101 procedures is required in lieu of FAA certification
