Summary

As the Vice President of Technology for our client's de novo bank, you will play a critical role in building and overseeing the Bank's technology infrastructure, aligning IT strategy with organizational goals, and ensuring security, resilience, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage all facets of the Bank's technology needs, including core processing, risk assessment, disaster recovery, and incident response. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker with strong experience in banking technology and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Technology Planning
  • Develop and implement the Bank's technology strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Drive the evolution of the technology infrastructure to support both current and future banking operations and customer needs.
  • Information Technology Oversight
  • Oversee and manage the Information Technology (IT) function, working closely with third-party technology vendors, including network providers and core processing suppliers.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Bank and its technology vendors, ensuring service levels are met and addressing any performance or operational issues.
  • Information Security
  • Serve as the Bank's Information Security Officer, responsible for setting security policies, monitoring compliance, and conducting regular security assessments.
  • Collaborate with external IT support partners to oversee information security protocols, regulatory reporting, and compliance adherence.
  • Risk Management and Compliance
  • Direct the IT management team to ensure effective governance of IT operations, including risk assessments, contingency planning, software changes, and user access management.
  • Lead the completion of all IT-related risk assessments and coordinate regular Disaster Recovery (DR) testing.
  • Incident Response and Contingency Planning
  • Develop and manage the Bank's incident response plan, ensuring swift and effective responses to IT security incidents.
  • Facilitate a regular review of contingency and DR plans to enhance the resilience of IT systems.
  • Project Leadership and Ad Hoc Assignments
  • Execute and oversee ad hoc projects and technology assignments as directed by the CFO or CEO, providing timely reporting on progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support new initiatives, process improvements, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management within the banking or financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing core banking systems, network providers, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of information security principles, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance standards in banking.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar certifications.
  • Familiarity with de novo banking requirements and regulatory environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
