Responsibilities:
  1. Provide strategic direction and act as a lead financial partner to the US Senior Leadership team on key commercial initiatives across the US market.
  2. Furnish the US Senior Leadership team with a comprehensive monthly financial update, analysing the latest trading and financial performance, including insights on areas for improvement in both trade and operating costs.
  3. Responsible for the establishment and execution of a long-term financial plan for the US business to ensure we remain on track to achieve our strategic goals, ensuring consistent alignment between financial strategies and business goals.
  4. Provide robust support, guidance and education to the business through insights and analyses, flagging any potential risks or opportunities to enable the leadership team to take any necessary action.
  5. Support the development of financial KPIs to assess the success of both the business and the financial strategy.
  6. Conduct ongoing analyses of store trading and financial performance, providing comprehensive insights to the leadership team to improve the profitability of our stores.
  7. Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance.
  8. Work collaboratively with the global team on the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes and ensure US plans are aligned to overall group financial plans.
  9. Design and build scalable forecasting and reporting workflows to ensure consistency and accuracy. Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and reporting, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  10. Construct compelling pieces of financial analyses, outlining issues, opportunities and solutions, overseeing development & ensuring output is insightful & actionable.
  11. Assess new investment opportunities in both stores and depots and identify potential scope to support our expansion plans.
  12. Other ad hoc financial analysis as required to support the US leadership team.
Collaboration:
  1. Provide strategic leadership and direction for the US Leadership team, creating and relaying a vision that aligns with business goals and aspirations.
  2. Prioritise key activities and drive delivery through collaboration across multiple teams in the business, both within and outside of the FP&A space.
  3. Collaborate with key operational and programme leads to define and refresh roadmaps for core initiatives of the business.
  4. Build effective communication channels with business leaders and stakeholders. Provide visibility on the FP&A strategy and roadmap, the status of projects and opportunities to mitigate risks.
  5. Work closely with the Head of FP&A, to ensure alignment to the overall business and FP&A strategy.
  6. Act as the leadership representative for FP&A in the US and partner with senior stakeholders to maintain progress of initiatives, intervening, challenging and supporting as necessary.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and relevant stakeholders to assess business performance and provide direction on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Champion and partner with key stakeholders, acknowledge, anticipate, and balance their competing interests and serve as an integrated partner.
  9. Provide robust advice to senior stakeholders and represent the FP&A department at all levels across the US.
  10. Collaborate closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure efforts are always in pursuit of Primark’s strategic goals.
Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in a Finance Leadership role and will exhibit an extensive Finance portfolio.
  3. Experience of working in Financial Planning and Analysis through both rapid growth and operating at scale; able to provide the context and expertise to guide our business.
  4. Prior experience of navigating complex multi-stakeholder environments, whilst demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and generating ‘buy-in’ from all stakeholder groups.
  5. Proven ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders within a strategic, commercial context.
  6. Possess exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to navigate complex financial challenges.
  7. Ability to partner with the business in the development of strategy and delivery of results.
  8. Excellent understanding of organisational dynamics and business process and policies. A working knowledge of business processes, headcount planning, international expansion and accurate cost modelling, in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  9. Must be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  10. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
