What you’ll do

The Senior Software Engineer (Android) reports to the Mobile Engineering Manager and works closely with cross-functional teams including design, product, and backend development to ensure seamless, high-quality product delivery.

In this role, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of world-class integrated Android applications.

Your Impact
  • Design, code, and debug scalable, robust, and high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and Java
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and bring innovative features to life
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
  • Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks
  • Adhere to and drive modern best practices in mobile software design and review
  • Uphold and propagate best practices in mobile software design, ensuring rigorous code reviews and architectural evaluations
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and growth
  • Continuously research, evaluate, test, and implement new technologies to optimize application performance and development efficiency
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in Android development
What you bring to the table
  • Minimum 5 years of professional Android development experience
  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality Android applications to the Google Play Store
  • Proficient in Kotlin and Java
  • Deep understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and handling of device-specific idiosyncrasies
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services
  • Experience with Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Experience with performance and memory tuning using tools
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Bonus points
  • Experience in Reactive Programming (RxJava/RxKotlin)
  • Experience with declarative UI programming (Jetpack Compose)
  • Knowledge of modern architectural patterns like MVVM, MVI, etc.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Experience with travel domain a plus
Location

This role is remote and can be located anywhere inside the continental United States. iSeatz is a New Orleans-based company with Central Time Zone business hours, but feel free to work from your home office, from the beach, or from the cottage you rented for the summer
