Production Planning Manager

SUMMARY: Plans all facets of the material requirements planning (MRP) process and system, starting with procurement phase all the way through shipment to the end customer. This position will identify and eliminate bottlenecks within the process and system and offer alternatives to such if available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Institute, develop and deploy an effective and efficient planning process and policies utilizing MRP software.
• Coordinates workflow between departments including final inspection, ensuring that deadlines are met for assigned business.
• Create, communicate, evaluate and adjust product delivery schedule starting with the procurement phase and ending at shipment to our customer.
• Using knowledge of the company MRP system, train others on the fundamentals and operation of the system.
• Advice on current and anticipated capacity constraints in order to adapt and reroute jobs as needed.
• Lead and identify continual improvement assignments to eliminate waste both time and material within the planning department with measurable goals and objectives.
• Establish inventory levels according to generally accepted Materials Management practices
• Completes quality system requirements as they pertain to specific job functions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has 2-3 direct reports.
- Indirectly coordinates 2-5 employees in Operations and Quality Assurance departments.
- Carries out coordination responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include, but not limited to: training employees on E-2; planning and directing work to appropriate work centers; Coordinate workflow between departments; giving technical assistance; refer any personnel problems to HR Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent, or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 / ISO13485 QMS requirements.
- Computer skills required: E2 or equivalent MRP Systems; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software; Ability to write and send E-mails to peers, customers, and suppliers as needed
- Communication skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
- Educated in ISO manufacturing requirements
- Educated in FDA manufacturing requirements
- Training requirements: Refer to employee orientation checklist F622-01.

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is quiet.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
