Clayton Services is searching for a part-time Logistics Coordinator to join a thriving company in the Northwest Houston area.


Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/hour

Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including planning, product development, customer service, and external partners, to improve logistics efficiency and service.
  • Prepare and track daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to assess and enhance on-time delivery and on-time shipping metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate various operational tasks at offsite facilities, such as order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and handling claims.
  • Generate and provide necessary shipping documents, including ocean bill of lading, packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, and others for import/export operations.
  • Update ERP systems with accurate, up-to-date delivery details, including OBL and customs release information.
  • Monitor shipping costs and delivery timelines to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to shipments or inventory to maintain operational flow.
  • Conduct weekly on-site visits to third-party logistics locations as needed.
  • Work alongside the logistics supervisor to develop and maintain the carrier scorecard for performance tracking.
  • Ensure the secure, timely pickup and delivery of all shipments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support logistics and operational goals.

Logistics Coordinator Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a logistics coordinator or in a similar role is required.
  • Previous warehouse management experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with multiple modes of transportation (ocean/air, rail, OTR, LTL & parcel) is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with account management and contract negotiation is a plus.
