Role:

Rooster Grin is hiring a full-time Support Web Developer to provide support to our clients and employees. ALL applicants must have experience HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress. In addition, applicants will need some knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator or a comparable design tool (ie. Sketch, XD). This position is designed for an eventual Jr. Front End Developer. The ideal candidate is resourceful with code, attentive to detail, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates must be well spoken on the phone and over email. You would mainly be working on WordPress templates that the company has built.

Responsibilities

  • Completing support requests from clients (this can range from simple content updates to new features) on websites
  • Speaking to clients on the phone and answering inbound requests
  • Learn quickly and continuously
  • Working and problem solving with clients, making sure that problems that arise are taken care of in a timely and friendly manner (we pride ourselves on our dedication to customer service)


Requirements

  • Experienced and comfortable with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experienced and comfortable with WordPress
  • Knowledge of developer best-practices including coding standards, source control, build processes, and testing
  • Ability to solve problems in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and volume of support requests
  • Friendly - this is a client facing role and we are looking for someone who is able to work well with our customers on a daily basis


Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Sass or other CSS preprocessor
  • Experience with BEM methodology or similar
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite
  • Experience creating modern web applications using a front end framework like: React, Angular, Moon, Nuxt, and/or Vue
  • Have deployed a widget, plugin, or contributed any open source projects
  • Have used a state container like Flux, Redux or Vuex
  • SEO Experience and knowledge, especially when dealing with single page applications
  • Experience with WordPress API
  • Dabbles in design or other creative endeavors
