The VP will oversee financial operations, implement strategies, manage budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance. Your new role

They are now seeking a dynamic and hands-on VP Finance. Reporting into the CEO, your pivotal role will encompass overseeing the financial operations of the company, implementing robust financial strategies, and working closely with cross-functional teams. You will play a crucial part in shaping the company’s financial landscape, driving strategic decision-making, and contributing directly to their continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and create a best-in-class Finance function, system implementations, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  2. Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  3. Improve financial data management to effectively track operational KPIs and department performance.
  4. Prepare monthly financial reporting (including P&L, forecast vs. budget, and cash flow, COGS, and R&D trials) for the executive team, investors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Work closely with operations to support operational and strategic goals, including cross-functional projects, product development, marketing, and supply chain management.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, including tax filings, audits, and internal controls.
  7. Expand and further standardize accounting and financial processes across the entire organization; lead the monthly accounting close and reporting process.
  8. Prepare and present financial performance updates and forecasts to investors and the board.
  9. Build and manage a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
  10. Oversee the development and analysis of COGS, ensuring cost optimization without compromising product quality.
  11. Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to implement cost-effective production practices and improve resource allocation.
  12. Establish and monitor BOMs to accurately reflect production costs and drive profitability.
  13. Develop metrics and KPIs to track manufacturing efficiency, waste reduction, and overall production cost savings.

Your experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  2. Proven experience in a finance leadership role within an early-stage manufacturing/food company is essential.
  3. Strong background in cost accounting, financial tracking, and data management.
  4. Experience with ERP system implementation and managing audits.
  5. Ability to build financial infrastructure and processes from scratch.
  6. Hands-on approach with a willingness to be involved in operations.
  7. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with other leaders.
