ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Corporate Controller reports to the VP - Finance and is responsible for the preparation and reporting of financial statements that conform to accounting principles and regulatory requirements. The individual will also supervise Corporate Accounting staff, provide technical accounting support, and oversee the global consolidation and reporting processes. Serves as the point of contact for audit coordination and assists with maintaining accounting and finance policies. Corporate Controller also coordinates accounting activities with Tax and Treasury functions and the liaison with IT on finance related projects. Detailed responsibilities include the following:


1. External reporting – Consolidated financial statements for private equity owner and for compliance with bank reporting requirements, which includes consolidating financial statements.

2. Technical accounting research and field support, evaluate & implement new accounting standards.

3. Stock option accounting, incentive program, impairment analysis, other complex accounting matters (including purchase accounting).

4. Global consolidation review and oversight, corporate accounting review and oversight, holding company accounting review and oversight.

5. External audit coordination.

6. Maintain and update accounting policies & procedures.

7. Maintain and update internal controls documentation (partner with internal audit).

8. Liaison with tax for provision process.

9. Liaison with treasury & tax for global cash management & planning activities.

10. Liaison with IT for support (Finance IT projects & BI IT projects).

11. Support business process improvement projects.

12. Support financial information for management and private equity owner reporting.

13. M&A support (purchase accounting, due diligence support).

14. Special projects as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or educational equivalent, with 10 years finance experience and 6 years management experience.
  • MBA Preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry trends.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Hyperion and Oracle ERP systems knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Strong PC skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated. Able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to interact with all levels of management.
  • Able to work in an office environment five (5) days per week.
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment.
  • Good judgment - fair and objective.
  • Public accounting firm experience preferred.


This is an office-based role in our Katy, Texas location.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages specialized or general accounting managers. Assists Financial leadership and works under their general guidance to prepare and report financial statements; including the balance sheet, statement of profit and loss, statement of cash flows and statement of retained earnings; and ensures compliance to accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Experience managing other management level staff required.
