Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Project Manager to oversee the planning, design, and execution of wastewater treatment projects. The Project Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental engineering, wastewater systems, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Project Planning and Management:


    • Lead the planning, design, and execution of wastewater treatment plant projects from inception to completion.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management.
    • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental standards, health, and safety.
  2. Team Leadership:


    • Supervise and manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, contractors, and support staff.
    • Foster collaboration, communication, and a positive work environment within the project team.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and ensure proper training and development.
  3. Budget and Resource Management:


    • Prepare detailed project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the best value for the project.
    • Monitor project progress and make adjustments to resources and schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
  4. Quality Control and Compliance:


    • Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with industry standards, environmental laws, and safety regulations.
    • Implement and oversee quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Conduct regular inspections and site visits to ensure the quality and accuracy of work.
  5. Stakeholder Communication:


    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Prepare and present progress reports, budgets, and project updates to stakeholders.
    • Address and resolve any issues, concerns, or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  6. Risk Management:


    • Identify and manage potential project risks, including environmental, financial, and operational challenges.
    • Develop mitigation strategies to address any issues and minimize project delays or cost overruns.
  7. Post-Project Evaluation and Handover:


    • Oversee the successful completion and commissioning of the wastewater treatment plant.
    • Ensure a smooth handover of the facility to the client or operations team, including providing necessary documentation and training.
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing wastewater treatment plant projects or similar infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.

Working Conditions:


  • The position may require periodic travel to project sites.
  • The Project Manager will spend time both in an office setting and in the field overseeing the progress of wastewater treatment plant construction and operations.
  • Work may include occasional evening or weekend hours to meet project deadlines.
