Family Services Supervisor/Bridging Families Supervisor (Avery Campus)
Location: Crossnore, North Carolina
Crossnore Communities for Children seeks a Bridging Families Supervisor in Avery County, NC to coordinate the daily operations of the Bridging Families program. This position will be responsible for the oversight of the program and for the training and development of Bridge Parents. Some travel to all Bridging Family homes which are located throughout Western NC will be required. Evening/weekend work may be required. Remote work may be possible. Must be able to have a flexible schedule and provide occasional 24-hour coverage in cottages.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Meets requirements for a Qualified Professional which are:
- Master’s degree in a human services or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year supervised clinical experience working with children and families;
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and two years’ experience with the current population;
- or a Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field and four years’ experience with the current population.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in working with children and families, preferably in a mental health or child welfare setting.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred
- Experience supervising foster care, Bridging Families or group care living program staff strongly preferred
- TIPS-MAPP and Deciding Together certified strongly preferred

Child Welfare & Mental Health Systems: Strong understanding of state child welfare and mental health frameworks; familiarity with COA, CARF, JACHO accreditation is a plus.

Interpersonal & Communication Excellence: Exceptional communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong written and verbal abilities.
Relationship Building: Expertise in quickly establishing and maintaining productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and community partners.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Oversight & Implementation: Lead daily operations of the Bridging Families program, ensuring program goals, performance metrics, and clinical models, including the Sanctuary Model and TBRI, are implemented effectively.
- Staff Training & Supervision: Develop, implement, and oversee in-service and on-the-job training for staff. Provide ongoing supervision, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and professional development.
- Resident Care & Management: Ensure the well-being of residents by overseeing daily routines, meal preparation, personal hygiene, and therapeutic activities. Maintain medical files, daily logs, and ensure facilities meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Financial Management: Manage and account for program funds, including groceries, resident activities, payroll, and billing documentation. Ensure financial compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Licensing & Compliance: Coordinate the licensing process for Bridge Parents, ensuring compliance with foster care regulations. Monitor and maintain audit-ready documentation for licensing and program fidelity.
- Case Management Oversight: Supervise the creation and review of service plans, ensuring alignment with family/client goals. Maintain positive relationships with school staff, DSS, and community resources to support client care.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Director of Bridging Families, other programs, and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery. Provide feedback and address potential issues proactively.
- Crisis & Cultural Competency: Lead crisis management efforts and provide trauma-informed care, with sensitivity to cultural issues affecting residents and their families.
- On-Call & Respite Support: Fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned and assist in maintaining coverage for cottages, including during staff absences.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all services and operations comply with state, federal, and agency regulations, including COA standards, to deliver high-quality care to residents.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00; to vary depending on program needs. Must be available to work nights and weekends as necessary, including occasional 24-hour periods when providing coverage in cottages. Work involves travel to locations that range from human services agencies, clinics, hospitals, offices, and locations for field trips. May involve contact with clients and/or family members who may be hostile, resistant, and violent.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Medium
Position involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time (from time to time may need to lift children heavier than this) with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching and/or grasping using hands and/or arms. Frequent use of hands requiring dexterity in using the telephone, computer keyboard, or other objects. Visual ability including distance, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to drive and hear. Ability to spend long periods of time standing, bending, stooping, and walking around the facility while supervising and/or participating in the activities and assisting in the movement of the residents. Accompany residents on field trips requiring the physical stamina to walk a minimum of a mile (often times more). Ability to climb stairs. Job requires physical stamina; agility required to manage young, active residents.
