Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Avera Granite Falls. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine clinical laboratory tests and basic clinical laboratory functions. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, which will inform patient care and treatment decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including phlebotomy, microbiology, blood bank, hematology, chemistry, and serology.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely laboratory results.
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 12 months of hire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Competitive hourly rate: $22.00 - $31.75 per hour.
- Varied shifts, including occasional weekends and holidays.
- Temporary position for approximately 6 months.
