Job Title: OTA Test Engineer - System Integration

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated OTA Test Engineer to join our Autonomous Driving team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and integrating over-the-air (OTA) software packages and hardware components into our development vehicles. You will start with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups and progress to full vehicle integration, ensuring smooth operation across our development fleet. Your work will be critical in identifying issues early and solving complex problems to keep our fleet operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware & Firmware Integration: Integrate hardware and firmware for next-generation prototype and fleet vehicles using development ECUs and test setups.
- System Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot system issues during integration and deployment of interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, software interfaces, sensor connections).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with international teams and partners to resolve complex hardware/software issues on development vehicles. This requires getting up early
- Tool Development: Extend automated testing setups on HIL systems and in-car environments to support early integration.
- Fleet Support: Ensure continuous operation of the development fleet by installing various ECU versions, sensors, and software updates.
- On-Site Presence: This role requires full-time presence in the garage/office.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of software engineering tools (e.g., Git, Linux, build systems, automated testing, debugging, Docker).
- Experience with embedded systems development or validation in automotive or consumer electronics industries.
- Advanced problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex hardware/software interactions.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and tools like Vector Tools (CANoe), Wireshark.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for solving challenging problems in a dynamic environment.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with E/E integration and signal tracing.
- Familiarity with HIL testing environments.
