Position Overview: As the Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you'll play a critical role in leading our machine learning efforts and driving innovation in machine learning technologies. You'll lead a team of talented engineers in developing and deploying machine learning models and systems that power our products and services. If you're a seasoned machine learning engineer with leadership experience and a passion for innovation, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of machine learning engineers, setting technical direction, defining best practices, and driving innovation in machine learning technologies.
  2. Model Development: Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and drive insights.
  3. Data Preparation: Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to train machine learning models, ensuring data quality and suitability for modeling purposes.
  4. Feature Engineering: Identify and engineer relevant features from raw data to improve model performance and predictive accuracy.
  5. Model Training and Evaluation: Train and evaluate machine learning models using appropriate techniques and metrics, iterating and refining models as needed to improve performance.
  6. Model Deployment: Deploy machine learning models into production environments, working closely with engineering teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and maintain the performance of deployed models, identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to understand business requirements and deliver solutions that meet user needs.
  9. Documentation and Best Practices: Document methodologies, assumptions, and findings in clear and concise documentation, and promote best practices in machine learning development and deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models and systems.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of leading machine learning teams and driving impactful results.
  • Proficiency in programming such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and familiarity with distributed computing and big data technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills, with a passion for tackling complex machine learning challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
