Vice President of Engineering

Our client, an innovator and trailblazer in the technology sector, is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead their engineering organization. This position will be pivotal in driving innovation and managing the development of cutting-edge wireless software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded software development, particularly within wireless communications, and will play a key role in advancing the company's distributed networking solutions.

Focus:

  • Oversee and develop the engineering team, fostering growth and achieving engineering excellence.
  • Represent the company’s technology and product vision internally and externally. Collaborate with sales and product management to align engineering efforts with product roadmaps and requirements.
  • Direct project management processes, ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones, and drive technology innovation.
  • Develop and present engineering solutions that enhance customer value. Serve as the technical expert in client and partner interactions.
  • Lead technology innovation and intellectual property development. Manage remote teams and third-party engineering services as needed.

Skill Set:

  • At least 15 years in engineering management, particularly in managing teams focused on wireless communications and embedded software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in startup environments, ideally as an early employee or co-founder.
  • Comprehensive understanding of embedded software development network architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading remote teams and managing third-party engineering services.
  • Agile and scrum master experience are highly desirable.
