The Network Engineer will be part of Script Care’s network administration team, which is responsible for implementing and maintaining Script Care's WAN and LAN, communications systems, cloud-based systems, and network security procedures. The employee will also assist (maybe up to 80% of the time) with other high-end system support, such as VMWARE, NAS, AWS, and Ring Central.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must possess the ability to comprehend and deploy new advanced technologies under time constraints
- Work closely with other IT professionals, such as system administrators and software developers
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
- Support additional IT-related tasks, including workstation, server, and mobile device administration
- Design and support Cloud-based systems and implementation
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Act as project leader for projects with varying budgets and duration
- Must be competent to work alone at the highest level of systems analysis, design, and implementation
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and processes.
- Create and update network diagrams and topology maps.
- Prepare reports on network performance, issues, and resolutions
- Implement and enforce network policies and procedures
- Ensure that backup systems are in place and regularly tested.
- Plan for business continuity in case of network failures or major incidents
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business major
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Required
- Knowledge of network transmission principles, IP networks, wireless, routing, and quality of service fundamentals
- Experience with WAN technologies, circuit fundamentals, and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with firewall technologies
- Knowledge of industry security standards
- Advanced knowledge of LAN, WAN, and firewall concepts
- Proficiency with the full Microsoft Office suite and eagerness to learn new software programs as needed
- Willing to travel as needed (up to 25%)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
- Excellent communication/organization skills, both written and verbal
- Able to interact with all levels and areas of the Company
- Able to support multiple tasks, initiatives, and projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated; Positive attitude
- Collaborative work style with a solid ability to network and build relationships
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer/printer
- Must be able to move/transport equipment/office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
- Technical documentation writing
Experience with any of the following technologies is desirable:
- AWS Cloud Platform
- Google Cloud Platform
- CISCOASA/Meraki Firewalls
- Microsoft Enterprise Server, including Clustering—Knowledge of how Microsoft Server, including clustering and the networking component of High-Availability Servers.
- VMWARE- Have a working knowledge of VSphere components and management of VMs, including VMware switches.
- Linux- Have a working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including HA and virtual interfaces.
- Office365—Knowledge of managing the Office365 domain, including Azure syncing from Active Directory.
- Ability to troubleshoot and document mail flow or errors.
- PURE -NAS/SAN—Knowledge of how backend NAS datastores function. Ability to configure, understand, and monitor operation efficiency.
