We are a growing accounting firm seeking an experienced Tax Manager & CPA to take the lead on reviews and technical issues, allowing our leadership to focus on strategic expansion and the acquisition of new CPA firms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Tax Reviews and Sign-Offs:
    • Oversee, review, and sign off on tax returns for individuals, pass-through entities, small to medium-sized businesses, and non-profit organizations.
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance without the need for spot-checking by senior management.
  • Independent Tax Return Submission:
    • Prepare and submit tax returns efficiently, ensuring timely delivery to clients.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and addressing their needs promptly.
    • Develop and strengthen customer relationships through exceptional service.
  • Manage Technical Issues:
    • Handle complex technical tax issues independently.
    • Provide guidance on adjustments and reconciliations to help clients maintain accurate financial records.
  • Communication with Government Agencies:
    • Liaise with the IRS and other government entities on behalf of clients.
    • Manage payroll processes and handle all communications with relevant agencies.
  • Support Firm Growth:
    • Collaborate with the team to support the firm's expansion efforts.
    • Contribute to a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Flexible Work Environment:

    • Full-time commitment during tax season and part-time flexibility during the summer months.

Qualifications:

  • CPA License: Must hold an active Certified Public Accountant license.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in public accounting.
    • Advanced experience completing tax returns, audits, and reviews for individuals, pass-throughs, and small to medium-sized companies.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong skills in tax and payroll reviews.
    • Ability to manage and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Client-Focused Approach:
    • Proven experience in developing and strengthening customer relationships.
    • Dedicated to providing exceptional service and building lasting client partnerships.
  • Proactive and Diligent:
    • Willingness to take initiative and handle various responsibilities without constant oversight.
    • Capable of making and handling calls with the IRS and government agencies.
  • Team Player:
