Are you a financial and HR leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in a collaborative, creative environment? SCHERMER, a nationally recognized B2B marketing agency, is looking for a dynamic Vice President of Finance & Administration to partner with our President and leadership team. This role combines strategic financial planning with employee-centric HR management to help propel our agency to new heights. In this pivotal position, you’ll oversee and refine financial and business administration while contributing to high-level decision-making. From managing financial reporting and cash flow trends to cultivating a supportive and innovative workplace culture, you’ll play a key role in ensuring SCHERMER thrives.


Key Responsibilities include:

Finance:
  1. Deliver timely and insightful financial reviews (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow).
  2. Manage A/P, A/R and GL accounting.
  3. Drive client billing, revenue recognition, and collections to optimize cash flow.
  4. Mastermind forecast and budgets to help achieve organizational goals.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with our CPA firm, bank, payroll provider, and other key partners.
  6. Develop and refine financial policies and operating procedures.
Human Resources:
  1. Oversee payroll processing, compliance, and benefits administration.
  2. Enhance employee onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
  3. Provide guidance to managers on performance and employee relations issues.
  4. Collaborate on strategic staffing plans and compensation analysis.
Technology & Operations:
  1. Partner with IT to manage cybersecurity, software licenses, and equipment needs.
  2. Support a seamless hybrid work environment through technology and operational initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  1. 8+ years of finance and HR experience, including 2+ years in the professional services sector.
  2. 2+ years in a marketing agency preferred.
  3. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  4. Expertise in financial management.
  5. Understanding of human resources best practices.
  6. A problem-solving mindset with an eye for process improvement.
  7. Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  8. Dedication to dotting every I and crossing every T.
  9. Experience with MS Office, Teams & SharePoint, including advanced Excel skills.
  10. Knowledge of Workamajig agency management software a plus.
