SUMMARY: The critical focus of this position is to develop meaningful and useful financial data, provide financial analysis, suggest and implement process improvements, and provide support for critical projects. This position will be responsible for developing financial statements for various breakdowns within the company, analyzing various data and communicating implications of said analysis, creating and implementing process improvements as it relates to capturing and presenting data, and supporting the Controller with various critical projects, including a company-wide ERP upgrade.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Traits: Listener and learner. Self-motivated and hard-working. Willing to dive in to get the job done. Measurable results orientation. Good and effective communicator.
  • Experience: Candidate may have something like 10 years’ experience in accounting or financial analysis, but fit with job requirements and company culture are important considerations.
  • Education: Degree in Accounting, or a degree in a related area with a concentration in Accounting.


FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

Financial Data:

  • Play a critical role in developing financial statements by product line, plant, salesperson, sales group, and division.
  • Understand the ERP system and analyze best practices for compiling data in a meaningful and useful manner.
  • Collaborate with plants to develop production reports.
  • Assist in analyzing the chart of accounts and provide suggestions for a more comprehensive account structure.
  • Provide support to Controller in developing financial reports.


Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Benchmark planned and actual results to identify areas of improvement.


Process Improvement:

  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking KPIs for executive management team and sales staff.
  • Review current financial statement development process and suggest improvements.


Project Support

  • Maintain responsibility for a wide variety of detailed financial and administrative activities for multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Development, testing and implementation support for the new ERP project.
