Store Support Hardware Technician

On-site Lawrence, IN

3-month Contract w/ likelihood for extension

Maintains, monitors and tracks all new and refurbished equipment, evaluates and repairs equipment as necessary. This individual will effectively exhibit the client’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

  • Verifies store equipment is prepared and ready to be shipped out daily based on SLAs.
  • Images and Stages POS equipment according to documented processes and business requirements
  • Monitors electronic movement of IT hardware inventory using Jira as well as the physical movement of equipment throughout the DC.
  • Performs all warranty services, testing and repairs for store hardware including but not limited to tablets, mobile handheld devices, printers, receipt printers, scanners, POS, Computers, etc.
  • Researches and investigates inventory inaccuracies and unreturned hardware equipment in order to keep control of all hardware assets.
  • Additional duties and projects as required.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers based on escalated issues and/or defined processes
  • Maintain and repair technological equipment or peripheral devices
  • Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Manage and monitor electronic movement of IT hardware inventory as well as the physical movement of equipment throughout the DC.
  • Keep records of repairs and fixes in our incident system
  • Offer timely technical support and teach Support Desk Technicians on all store hardware components

Required Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent and 1 - 2 years' experience with applied PC repair experience in Help Desk or Service Center focusing mainly on IT hardware testing and/or IT inventory control

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. As well as windows command prompt and an email program.
