About the Role: As a Teacher's Aid, you will assist in creating a positive and engaging classroom experience for children ages 5-14. You’ll support lead instructors with lessons and activities, help manage classroom dynamics, and provide guidance to students working on educational tasks.

Here at S.T.E.A.M. Champs, we prioritize our students' learning journey. We developed a unique S.T.E.A.M. curriculum that integrates computational thinking with a champion mindset, or in other words, a growth mindset – the belief that hard work and determination can provide you with endless opportunities. We offer advanced, creative, and joyous S.T.E.M. classes, events, camps, and field trips to children 6-12. Families can choose to register for different programs, ranging in commitment from a single course to a class pack, offered both online and in-person in Brooklyn.
Our sessions are tailor-made to maximize every student’s learning potential. Students are enrolled in group coding classes based on their current level and age and are moved up when they show they have mastered the current material. On weekends, S.T.E.A.M. Champs Coding Academy holds regularly scheduled community events such as Family LEGO® build, LEGO® tournaments, and free Chess classes for all levels and ages. During the summer, S.T.E.A.M. Champs offers steam camps, providing the most advanced, fun daily activities for kids.
Responsibilities include:
- Play Minecraft and Participate in Build Challenges
- Assist lead teachers with classroom activities and lesson execution.
- Engage students, answering their questions and providing support.
- Help maintain a fun, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
- Ensure the classroom is prepared and organized for daily activities.
- Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow.
- Work through the curriculum to anticipate and guide students as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minecraft Gamer preferred
- 16 or above
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or child care is strongly preferred
- Works well with others; collaborates
- Passion for education and creating a supportive environment for kids.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Reliable, responsible, and fun to work with.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to different classroom environments.
