Fixed Income Analyst

This position is an opportunity to conduct fundamental research and analysis, monitor portfolios, analyze/recommend potential investment opportunities, and advance efforts for managing $1 billion and growing fixed income assets under management across a variety of client accounts.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the ongoing development and management of the overall fixed income investment procedures and programs that achieve the investment objectives of Mairs & Power and its clients.
  • Analyze credit, classes of securities, market trends, comparable yield and duration, and relationships between different fixed-income sectors for corporate, municipal, and treasury fixed income securities.
  • Recommend securities for purchase and sale considering relative value and credit.
  • Trade fixed income securities.
  • Develop fixed income management systems in coordination with fixed income team and other stakeholders within the organization.
  • Meaningfully influence management of institutional and individual separately managed accounts by implementing investment strategies designed for specific client needs.
  • Assist with resource allocation, expense management, and product development.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects, as assigned.


Skills:

  • Ability to initiate and carry out work in an unstructured, small business setting with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of the credit process
  • Experience articulating investment ideas
  • Expertise in working with Bloomberg and Excel desired
  • Experience with Clearwater and Salesforce preferred
  • Data management experience preferred


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of three years of fixed-income investment experience desired
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or progress toward preferred
  • Experience with relative value within corporate bonds and across asset classes preferred
