Summary of Position

The Violence Prevention Senior Social Services Worker provides case management service to high-risk individuals and their families. This position will work directly for the Office of Violence Prevention, and in partnership with hospital and community-based programs to service clients that have been directly affected by violence in their communities. The Case Manager will conduct assessments, case plans development and implementation, supporting clients, home visits and documentation, and perform related duties as assigned efforts. Work with key partners to oversee public-private collaborations to reduce community violence; and develop and implement policy solutions at the local, state and federal level that reduce rates of violence. This position will work collaboratively with community-based coalitions and organizations, health care partners, the business community, the criminal justice/law enforcement system and other stakeholders that aim to reduce gun violence rates in New Orleans.
