Head of Compensation

We are seeking an experienced Compensation & Benefits professional to establish global best practices for compensation and manage relationships with 3rd party service providers. The Head of Compensation & Benefits will be a part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial team that will design our compensation & benefits plans establishing global standards within HR and across the organization.
Reporting to the CRHO, the Head of Compensation & Benefits will support the company and its employees by establishing and managing global compensation & benefits standards world-wide. The role will focus on developing compensation packages, maintaining global compensation standards, managing relationships with 3rd party service providers, and partnering with HR business partners to execute on standards. The position requires an understanding of best-in-class compensation, benefit and bonus structures and how to deploy new packages across a global organization. The Head of Compensation & Benefits must demonstrate deep expertise in establishing HR practices and introducing new ways of working within the HR function. The role will also require strong communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to prioritize across a multitude of business priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and set standard compensation and benefits packages that align with the organization’s overall strategic goals
- Guarantee consistency of compensation packages across titles and roles
- Analyze compensation packages within the market to ensure American Vanguard offers competitive plans globally
- Manage relationships with 3rd party benefits and the payroll service provider (ADP) with a focus on ensuring high service quality at a low cost
- Work alongside HR Business Partners to deploy compensation standards within Business Units (BUs) and adjust based on individual BU needs
- Design and support the annual compensation review process including merit increases, promotions and bonus payouts (cash & stock incentives)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant compensation-focused regulations within the U.S. & internationally
- Coach and develop HR team members
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with senior key stakeholders globally as well as broadly across the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- 7+ years of work experience as a Compensation & Benefits Manager or in a similar role
- Experience designing compensation and bonus packages for multiple functions
- Experience working with 3rd party HR service providers
- US multi-state and Global HR benefits and compensation expertise required
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders across all business units
- Highly organized with a proven ability to run end-to-end improvement initiatives to drive results
- Experience in Public company equity programs; developing and implementing incentive (STI / LTI) plans
