JOB SUMMARY

Join Marriott International as a Director of User Experience, where you will create best-in-class digital experiences for our 34+ brand sites. This role focuses on collaborating with the Senior Director of Hotel Ecosystem, brand teams, and design peers to drive consistency and illustrate core brand values through data-driven design.

This position requires deep experience in brand design, the ability to produce designs, and direct designers, driving the creative process from concept through execution. A strong portfolio showcasing experience in brands, UX, and interaction design is critical.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience:

  1. 8+ years of relevant experience in digital product design with demonstrated leadership experience.
  2. 4+ years of experience with large-scale brands, websites, or global digital products.
  3. Experience leading design in visual identity and brand in a digital space.
  4. Experience delivering concepts, user journeys, prototypes, etc., across platforms with inclusivity in mind.
  5. Thrives in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Demonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge:

  1. Produce design while directing the execution of user experience design.
  2. Clearly explain design decisions to leadership and stakeholders while seeking approvals.
  3. Identify future opportunities by keeping up to date with design trends and new technology.

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies:

  1. Provides accurate estimates as to needed time to complete work.
  2. Successfully manages multiple tracks of work simultaneously.
  3. Accepts critique and critiques work of others in a helpful manner.

Leadership & Management:

  1. Ability to manage one or more direct reports.
  2. Leads work done by both internal associates and external vendors.
  3. Attract, hire, develop, and retain top talent.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works and leads independently with minimal supervision.
  2. Develops relationships with members of other teams.
  3. Presents work with clarity and confidence.
