Aker is seeking an entrepreneurial, dynamic, and results-driven Portfolio CXO, Lead Operator to oversee the financial success and strategic direction of a diverse portfolio of real estate companies ($250M – $1B+ GAV). This role demands a visionary leader with the ability to drive operational excellence, build high-performing teams, and foster strong relationships with investors and stakeholders. You will leverage the Aker platform, internal team, and industry specialists to influence external parties and deliver results. Compensation will be heavily skewed towards portfolio performance and profit participation.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Craft and execute a unified vision and strategy across multiple real estate business plans, ensuring alignment with Aker’s core goals and values.
- Operational Management: Lead day-to-day operations to maximize efficiency, productivity, and performance, setting the standard for operational excellence.
- Team Development: Cultivate and mentor high-performing teams, encouraging a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Performance Achievement: Set, communicate, and achieve aggressive performance targets, ensuring businesses consistently outperform industry benchmarks.
- Informed Decision Making: Leverage insights from industry specialists and data analytics to make informed decisions.
- Investor Relations: Act as the primary point of contact with capital partners and external stakeholders of each company within your portfolio.
- Business Development: Facilitate new business connections and source expansion opportunities in your region.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Leadership Experience: 7+ years of experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams towards achieving and surpassing challenging goals. (MBA is considered a plus with a minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting or a related field.)
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Organizational Skills: Superior organizational and time-management skills, with the capability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence, demonstrating humility, intuition, and a collaborative leadership style.
- Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven by a high level of initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit.
