Accountabilities:

  • Produces small-scale, research-grade retroviral vectors for use in preclinical studies with guidance from the vector core and drug discovery teams.
  • Evaluates viral vector titer, generates data summary reports, and communicates conclusions with research team members individually and in meetings.
  • Documents experimental designs, methods, and results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Works within the context of the vector core team to coordinate resources and execute incoming vector production requests.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the vector core team to inform operational procedures and process improvements.


Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):

  • Desired education and experience qualifications: BS with 1-2+ years of relevant scientific experience. Prior hands-on experience with viral vectors is strongly desired.
  • Technical Skills: adherent and suspension mammalian cell culture, plasmid transfection, retroviral vector production and transduction, flow cytometry, data analysis and presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced research team.
  • Experienced in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong planning, communication, and documentation skills are required. Meticulous attention to detail is a must.
