This entry - level design position is ideal for a technically skilled and artistically inclined individual looking to grow their design career with an established startup firm in Chicago’s North Shore. The individual in this role will collaborate with senior and principal designers throughout all phases of the design process including but not limited to conceptual design, technical drawing execution, rendering and visual aid execution, FF&E selection, custom furniture design and furniture installation and styling.

Requirements:

  • This entry - level design position is ideal for a technically skilled and artistically inclined individual looking to grow their design career with an established startup in Chicago’s North Shore
  • We are looking for a designer with a passion for real estate & design, strong AutoCAD and Sketchup skills, 0-2 years professional experience
  • 4 year bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from an accredited university
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, & Enscape
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative suite
  • Located in the Chicago area with the ability to commute to Winnetka, IL and surrounding suburbs
  • Self-motivated, organized, attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to adapt to a fast - paced work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time ensuring all deadlines are met and all deliverables are of the highest quality
  • Able to adhere to company design aesthetic and graphic presentation standards
  • Design Portfolio required for application to be considered

You’ll Stand Out With:

  • Decorating, Furniture Merchandising, or Staging/Styling experience
  • Sketching / hand rendering skills
  • Real estate experience / Licensed Agent
  • From Winnetka / North Shore

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design team to develop design concepts for high end residential spaces
  • Participate in design meetings and provide input on FF&E selections, furniture layouts, and other design elements
  • Attend site visits and client meetings to record site analysis, record meeting notes, and take dimensions as needed
  • Prepare client presentations including moodboards and FF&E proposals
  • Utilize AutoCAD to produce detailed plans, elevations, and specification drawings
  • Utilize Sketchup & Enscape to develop interior and exterior renderings and digital walkthroughs
  • Perform quality control on one’s own work as well as on work of the rest of the team members to ensure drawings are accurately reflecting company designs
  • Assist principal and senior designers with administrative tasks as needed
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with vendors and clients
  • Use client facing software (Gather) to organize and propose FFE selections for approval
  • Source custom furniture pieces for high end residential projects and collaborate with senior designers in designing custom pieces
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers
