We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Broker with a strong background in reinsurance to join our team in our Brickell, Miami office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex claims, especially within the reinsurance sector, and proficiency in utilizing Eclipse software for claims processing and documentation. This role will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely claims management.
Claims Management:
- Manage and process reinsurance claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring compliance with company protocols and industry regulations.
- Review, analyze, and negotiate claims settlements in conjunction with carriers, reinsurers, and clients.
- Coordinate with underwriting and risk management teams to assess the accuracy and validity of claims.
Client Communication & Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and timely updates on the status of claims.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
- Address client queries and concerns with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction and resolving any issues promptly.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Use Eclipse software to accurately input, track, and manage claims data.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on claims statuses, trends, and settlement outcomes for internal teams and external clients.
- Ensure all claim files are up to date, well-documented, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Negotiation & Settlement:
- Lead settlement negotiations with reinsurers and other involved parties to reach favorable outcomes for clients.
- Analyze policy coverage, contract language, and loss details to determine liability and potential settlement amounts.
Risk Assessment & Analysis:
- Conduct thorough assessments of reinsurance risks related to claims and advise on potential impacts on coverage and exposure.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure alignment between claims handling and policy terms.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to claims handling processes, increasing efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to maintain best practices in claims management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, law, business, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in claims handling within the reinsurance industry, with a focus on complex claims.
- Experience using Eclipse software for claims management is required.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance principles, practices, and contracts.
Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
