About the Role

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results.
  • Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including microscopes and automated analyzers.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate test results.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) within one year of hire date.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate of $31.75 per hour.
  • Full-time position with 80 hours every 2 weeks.
  • Evening/night shift schedule with every 3rd weekend and holiday.
