Position Summary: General oversight for all E & I Engineering projects within Industrial Engineering.

Key Responsibilities: include the following (Other duties may be assigned):


• Consults with lead Electrical/Instrument engineers, chief specialist engineers, and project managers on technical problems, staffing requirements, effort-hour estimates, and schedule issues in relation to commitments for project deliverables.

• Assigns lead and other Electrical and Instrumentation task force engineers to project teams, ensuring the best utilization of their talents and skill sets for the specific project requirements.

• Responsible for recruiting Electrical and Instrumentation engineering personnel.

• Monitors progress and performance of all Electrical and Instrumentation project and assures quality standards are maintained.

• Demonstrates customer focus in all actions.

• Reviews and approves the use of outside engineering consultants in matters concerning the Electrical and Instrumentation effort for all projects as needed.

• Establishes and maintains a set of work instructions, procedures, specifications, and technical guidelines relative to the Electrical and Instrumentation section.

• Actively monitors project staffing requirements, adding or removing assigned personnel as required by project needs.

• Reviews and approves time sheets and expense reports for Electrical and Instrumentation personnel.

• Approves scheduling of vacations for Electrical and Instrumentation personnel to minimize job disruptions and substitutions of manpower.

• Initiates, and approves routine performance appraisals for all Electrical and Instrumentation personnel utilizing formal company performance review process.

• Provides consultation and guidance to department personnel on how to accomplish their goals.

• Responsible for the training and professional development of Electrical and Instrumentation personnel.

• Role model for open communications, relationship building, negotiations, and conflict resolution, and administrative professionalism.

• Responsible for overall departmental success


Qualifications:

Education: BS or MS in Electrical engineering, PE license required

Experience: 20+ years of total experience required, 15+ years of oil & gas and/or chemical plant EPC experience, experience in managing an engineering department

Skills:

Experience in managing an engineering department

Exhibits leadership traits and abilities

Demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of engineering, and project execution

Excellent communication skills

Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Physical Requirements:

  • Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. The role may require occasional travel for recruiting events, job fairs, or to GIS field sites.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
