WSS / Foot Locker | Asset Protection Manager - Distribution Center | houston, tx

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position, under the direction of the Vice President of Asset Protection, provides asset protection services to distribution facilities (warehouses) to achieve maximum effectiveness in inventory shortage and protection of company assets. It is responsible for hiring, training, developing and managing of the loss prevention and security staff and its shrinkage reduction efforts. It will work closely with distribution center management to accomplish the loss prevention department’s goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise all warehouse Security Officers
Develop staffing plan; recruit, interview and hire top quality Security Officers within the distribution center and/or manage contract guard service.
Train and supervise Security Officers to ensure the proper handling of all asset protection related matters
Train employees on shrink reduction measures
Manage all officer scheduling and needs in assigned area
Maintain accurate records and submit required reports in a timely manner to all appropriate parties
Ensure the effective utilization of physical security controls in assigned locations to prevent and reduce inventory shortage
Investigate known or suspected internal theft, external theft, or vendor fraud
Conducts formal fraud interviews both in person and by phone
Identify and report merchandise or stock shortages
Perform covert surveillance of areas susceptible to loss, such as loading, office, stock, and trash areas
Maintain case records on operational, security, and injury related incidents or investigations
Conduct daily facility inspections, Verify and inspect access points, physical security systems and equipment to ensure everything is functioning and in line with regulations
Maintains communications with corporate personnel and facility managers to determine the departmental direction
Ensure assigned projects are done on time, identify and bring focus to key business opportunities
Monitor CCTV system
Complete active surveillance of company operated shipment trucks
Ensure all company, asset protection and safety policies are being adhered to
Monitor expenditures in assigned area
Manage security for WSS marketing events
Demonstrate commitment to company goals through a management style that promotes honest, open-door communications; supportive of total customer service in an effort to foster teamwork
Provide leadership and direction for WSS in all areas of asset protection
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.This individual must be a self-starter who needs little to no guidance on the basics of retail math and analysis.The requirements above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
2-4 years’ of Asset Protection, safety, or loss prevention experience in a retail or distribution center setting is required.
Strong computer skills; particularly Excel and Word.
Strong people leadership and decision making skills
Proficient in inventory management strongly preferred.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, write or hear. This role would require the ability to lift items, bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Travel
Periodic travel is required for out of state locations.
