Job Title: Senior LabVIEW Engineer - System Maintenance and Fleet Management

Location: Milpitas, California ( Only Onsite Work )

Contract: Long term Contract


Position Overview:

The Senior LabVIEW Engineer will oversee the existing LabVIEW codebase, responsible for system stability, bug fixes, and performance optimizations across a fleet of thermal systems.

This role requires a deep understanding of LabVIEW, system troubleshooting, and the ability to implement incremental improvements.

While not required, experience with embedded C programming or a willingness to support our transition to C would be a strong advantage.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the LabVIEW codebase to ensure continued reliability and stability across over 4,000 deployed systems.
  • Develop and implement new features, optimizations, and bug fixes to improve system performance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates on the fleet, managing software updates and ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Utilize LabVIEWs data logging and monitoring tools to identify issues, analyze system performance, and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with the support and engineering teams to respond quickly to field issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Document software updates, changes, and best practices to facilitate future maintenance and handovers.
  • If capable, assist the engineering team with the gradual transition of control systems from LabVIEW to C, potentially contributing to code translation, testing, and validation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in LabVIEW development, with a proven track record in maintaining and optimizing complex LabVIEW applications.
  • Experience managing large-scale deployments and/or remote systems is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in LabVIEW, including Real-Time and FPGA modules.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for embedded systems and hardware interfaces.
  • Ability to implement and maintain control algorithms, such as PID controllers, in LabVIEW.
  • Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize maintenance tasks across a large system fleet.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with C or C++ programming and an interest in embedded systems development.
  • Familiarity with embedded controllers and the ability to assist with a LabVIEW to C code transition.
  • Knowledge of data analytics or predictive maintenance strategies using LabVIEW’s data analysis capabilities.
