As a veterinary technician or assistant at Radford Animal Hospital, your primary responsibilities encompass several crucial areas:
Excellent Patient Care: You'll play a pivotal role in providing top-notch care to our animal patients. This includes assisting with examinations, administering medications, handling medical equipment, and monitoring patient well-being.
Client Education and Sales: Educating pet owners about proper animal care and treatment options is essential. You'll help clients understand their pets' conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care measures. Additionally, you may assist in promoting relevant products and services to enhance pet health.
Safe Low-Stress Pet Restraint: Ensuring the safety and comfort of our animal patients during procedures and examinations is paramount. You'll be responsible for properly restraining pets in a manner that minimizes stress and risk, both for the animals and the veterinary staff.
Maintaining Hospital Cleanliness and Asepsis: A clean and hygienic environment is vital for the health and well-being of our patients and staff. You'll be tasked with maintaining cleanliness throughout the hospital, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites. Adhering to strict aseptic protocols is essential to prevent the spread of infections.
These primary duties require a combination of technical skills, compassionate care, effective communication, and attention to detail. By excelling in these areas, you'll contribute to the overall success of our veterinary practice and the well-being of the animals we serve.
