About this Opportunity:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing customer-provided proprietary designs including piece parts, and sub-assembly. Develop, sustain, and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, and tests to ensure manufacturing capability and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customers with technical support during NPI and production lifecycles.
- Provide suppliers with technical support in the sourcing or development of parts/assemblies.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Serve as a technical focal point who meets the Customer Focus Business Unit (CFBU) objectives of delivery, quality, and customer service.
Requirements / Skills:
- 4-year Engineering or Technical degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by senior management.
- 8+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to lead strategic manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques (sheet metal, welding, brazing, investment casting, machining, and metal spinning.
- Experience working with of MRP/ERP systems.
- Safety, testing, and tool/fixture design experience.
- Familiarity with production ramps and product/technology transfers.
- Manufacturing Engineering experience supporting mid volume production (ECNs, BOMs, work instructions, equipment/tooling/fixture/test development, troubleshooting.
- Experience with statistical software to analyze data.
- Knowledge of Outside Processes (anodize, chem film, paint etc.) and ability to work with Suppliers to achieve part requirements.
- Experience working with one or more advanced 3D CAD systems.
- Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.
