JOB SUMMARY

Fox 40 News WICZ-TV in Binghamton, NY is looking for a full-time Weekend Sports Director/MMJ. The candidate must be able to go beyond just the X’s and O’s of a sports highlight to find real stories.


The Binghamton market has a rich tradition in sports. Candidates will be covering FPHL hockey, Double-A baseball, Division I Binghamton University Bearcats, Champions Tour event Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, and several competitive high school athletic programs.


JOB DUTIES

  • Write, shoot, edit and produce content for multiple platforms
  • Must be able to work under intense pressure and tight deadlines
  • Must have strong news and editorial judgment
  • Operate a company vehicle to assignments
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Candidate must be polished, professional and personable
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must be flexible with schedule and hours
Requirements:
  • 4-year-degree in journalism preferred
  • Strong and engaging news writing
  • Energetic delivery and relatable presence
  • Engage and produce timely content on social media
  • Open schedule (evening and/or weekend hours may be required)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Premiere Pro and Ross Inception preferred

SALARY: $16.75/Hour + Sign on Bonus
