Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Lab Accessioning Manager/ Lab Support Supervisor to oversee the accessioning process in our toxicology laboratory. The Lab Accessioning Manager will be responsible for managing a team of accessioning technicians, ensuring the accurate and efficient intake, labeling, and tracking of specimens. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of accessioning technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee the accessioning process, including specimen intake, labeling, and data entry into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen accessioning and tracking.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., specimen processing, testing, client services) to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve accessioning-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity in the accessioning workflow.


Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of laboratory accessioning procedures, specimen handling, and LIMS systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing clinical laboratories (e.g., CLIA, CAP) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
