We are currently looking for an individual to join our team as the Associated Director of Human Resources. Responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources in providing direction and advice in the human resources administration at Ana G. Mendez University. Assist the Director of human resources on issues related to the payroll process, ensuring compliance with the norms and the applicable state and federal policies.

AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide direction and advice in the administration of human resources at Ana G. Mendez University.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, labor laws, regulations, manuals, and provisions applicable to Human Resources.
  • Supervise the payroll process ensuring compliance with the norms and the applicable state and federal policies.
  • Carry out investigations of complaints in compliance with applicable policies and laws and submit the report of each investigation with the Director of Human Resources.
  • Ensure all organizational charts for the institution are up to date.
  • Prepare and amend job descriptions and ensure that each supervisor meets with each employee to discuss and signs their respective job description.
  • Participate in the process of drafting and/or reviewing policies and standard operating procedures, necessary for the operation of human resources.
  • Participate in job interview processes.
  • Assist in collecting information for administrative and judicial proceedings in state or federal government agencies to address claims or legal or administrative actions.
  • Prepare and submit management reports as requested.
  • Leads in the organization in the coordination of employee activities and events, as well as any support needed during the activities or events.
  • Prepare the work plan and achievements report annually, aligned with the Vice President's Plan.
  • Participate in initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the university operations.
  • Ensure confidentiality in procedures, processes, and information management.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) years of administrative experience in the university field or related functions.
  • Knowledge in payroll process, federal and state labor laws (multi-state payroll).
  • Knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies, talent management, and employee laws.
  • Knowledge of managerial aspects and budget management.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, talent management systems, and technology.
  • Sufficient interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and administrators.
  • Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
