Anthony's Villa is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Provider/Family Caregiver to join our team. The primary role of this position is to provide temporary relief and support to primary caregivers by offering quality care and supervision to children and adolescents in our program. The Respite Provider/Family Caregiver will ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our residents, promoting their well-being and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Care and Supervision:
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to children and adolescents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Engage residents in age-appropriate activities, including recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration as needed.
Support and Relief for Primary Caregivers:
- Offer temporary relief to primary caregivers by taking over their caregiving duties for designated periods.
- Communicate effectively with primary caregivers to understand the specific needs and routines of each resident.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Report any significant changes in behavior, health, or well-being to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, including clinicians, social workers, and other respite providers, to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations governing child care and respite services.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents and staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in childcare, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in caregiving, childcare, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
