Position Overview: 
Concord New Energy Group is a leading utility-scale project developer/IPP with 4GW operating assets. We specialize in green field development of renewable projects. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly motivated Power System Engineer with a focus on project screening, interconnection application and power system modeling to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support our team in designing, analyzing, and implementing power system solutions for various renewable projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assisting in the evaluation of interconnection applications for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and grid code standards.
  • Supporting steady-state and dynamic modeling of power systems using industry-standard software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or similar platforms.
  • Generating one-line diagrams to illustrate the configuration and connectivity of power system components, including generators, transformers, transmission lines, and interconnection points.
  • Building equivalent circuit models to simulate the behavior of power system components and assess their performance under various operating conditions.
  • Participating in the detailed analysis of power system components, including generators, transformers, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
  • Assisting in the development of models for renewable energy resources, such as solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, wind turbines, and energy storage systems, to assess their impact on grid stability and performance.
  • Collaborating with project teams to identify technical challenges and contribute to innovative solutions to optimize power system performance and reliability.
  • Providing technical support to project managers, engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participating in technical meetings, workshops, and industry conferences to stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in power system engineering.
  • Supporting business development activities by contributing to proposals, presentations, and client meetings.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in power system engineering or related field, with exposure to steady-state and dynamic power system modeling preferred.
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, PSCAD and similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and apply technical concepts effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks effectively, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
