Cool Spring Child Care Center in Mechanicsville, VA is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Director.This full-time position is responsible for assisting the director in overseeing all operations of the Child Care Center.Cool Spring Child Care Center offers a great working environment, competitive salary, and benefits.
Duties
Assist the director in providing strategic direction and planning for Cool Spring Child Care in conjunction with the mission and vision of Cool Spring Baptist Church.
Assist the director in the daily operations of the childcare center that includes proper staffing and maintenance of the furnishings/equipment in the children’s building and on the playgrounds.
Assist the director in ensuring that state regulations, county health department regulations, and local fire regulations are met.
Assist the director in ensuring that a developmentally appropriate program that includes teaching spiritual concepts for children is implemented.
Assist the director in ensuring that all staff are trained in accordance with their job responsibilities as well as state and county regulations.
Attend leadership programs and training when relevant to enhancing the Assistant Director’s ability for the role.
Perform other necessary and related work as assigned.
Requirements
·A Christ follower committed to supporting the mission and values of Cool Spring Baptist Church.
·Well versed in the development of children ages 0-12 with a knowledge of state, county, and local regulations regarding operating a Child Care Center; people oriented; and an understanding of leadership and management.
·Education and Experience
·College graduate with a degree (preferably in Early Childhood education) that includes at least 12 hours of business/management courses and two years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity or,
·Five years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least 75 hours of child development-related training
