Position Title: Tribal Patrol Liaison
Department: Public Safety
Reports to: Director of Tribal Patrol
Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Status: Regular, Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for patrolling all CICC Tribal lands and properties. Incumbent must keep abreast of tribal rules and guidelines set forth by CICC. The incumbent is responsible for patrolling all tribal properties to prevent and discover crime and to enforce the protection of all individuals and assets on tribal lands.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol CICC properties and report suspicious and/or unusual activities to the proper authorities;
- Create daily incident reports as needed, noting all unusual activity and/or employee behavior;
- Keep abreast of hunting seasons and regulations of Tribal lands;
- Ensure signage is properly displayed and visible to public;
- Maintain the equipment of the Public Safety department as needed;
- Ensure incident information is shared with the proper agencies, departments, and individuals;
- Maintain daily mileage logs, submit on a weekly basis;
- Conduct business in a professional and courteous manner at all times; Work with the government agencies such as the Department of Fish and Game as needed;
- Produce organized and clear reports;
- Perform maintenance on all equipment used by the Patrolling Department;
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: One (1) year related experience and/or training
Licensing:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age
- Must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license
- Must provide recent DMV printout, reflecting the last three (3) years
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate well with the public;
- Basic PC knowledge;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills;
- Is knowledgeable with Tribal lands and properties;
- Knowledgeable of all laws and rules set by the Department of Fish and Game;
- Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.
- Must pass initial drug screen and random drug test conducted thereafter;
- Maintain high confidentiality standards at all times. Must sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Will be required to stand, sit, stoop, bend and/or kneel for significant periods of time.
- To be able to work indoors/outdoors year round.
- May be required to move or lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

- May be exposed to various seasonal elements such as rain, wind, cold and heat in excess of 90°ree;.
- The noise level in various environments is usually moderate to loud.
