Summary
Responsible for developing and supporting both new and existing products and processes. The incumbent will work directly with all organizational departments to research new or alternative solutions to support product, process, and manufacturing solutions to satisfy current and future specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for project related functions including preparing, managing, and facilitating development of plans, schedules, tasks and resources from conception to completion.
• As part of a team establish and maintain project scope, goals, and deliverables to meet expectations.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and create contingency / recovery plans.
• Support and/or lead internal and external teams focused on projects for new product ideas and improving current product and processes with sustainable attributes..
• Responsible for analysis of current product using 3D CAD and FEA to understand, improve and identify deficiencies of current offering.
• Predict an optimize product performance based on FEA and other theoretical design calculations such as free body diagrams, kinematic/vector calculations and stress analysis.
• Set up and maintain test stations based on theoretical design data and record system performance for analysis.
• Performs complex design investigation, failure analyses and feasibility studies for new products or components based on predicted theoretical analysis and testing data.
• Troubleshoot and identify technical problems and provide possible solutions from testing data.
• Other duties may be assigned

• Demonstrate professionalism in all activities and provide efficient services to internal and external customers.
• Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced dynamic environment


Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may have project based supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and two (2) to four (4) years experience in a R&D or Engineering Project Management role. Experience with 2D and 3D CAD using AutoCAD, Inventor and Nastran (or other equivalent) software packages. Understanding of engineering analysis using FEA, free body diagrams and vector analysis. Basic understanding of DC motors, power transmission (belt/chain and gear) and 4 bar linkage design is a plus.

Personal Protective Equipment
The person performing this job function is required to wear safety glasses with side shields at any time that they are performing any duties in the production area of the shop. Safety shoes should be worn when on the production floor; open toe shoes and sandals are not permitted in the production areas of the shop.
