The Shipping Associate is responsible for, but not limited to, accurately filling materials and parts for customers’ orders from printed pick tickets as assigned by the Shipping Manager or Shipping Lead. The position will execute this purpose by directly supporting the mission and values of Stuppy, being guided in their decision making and behaviors toward achieving the common goals of the organization


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the selecting and packaging of merchandise for customers.
  • Ensure material handling and packaging requirements always meet or exceed standards.
  • Create and confirm pick tickers against customer orders
  • Safely operate the forklift when picking, staging or filling orders.
  • Assist the shipping department in the physical loading and unloading of greenhouse parts on and off trucks.
  • Proper handling and accurate completion of shipping paperwork to ensure order accuracy while picking and filling.
  • Execute to Stuppy picking and inspection quality processes to ensure 100% accuracy of all orders.
  • Alert the shipping manager or shipping lead when inventory discrepancies are identified.
  • Participates in daily communication processes to ensure clarity and guidance is received.
  • Participates in company improvement initiatives as requested or desired by the employee
  • Responsible for the clean-up of assigned warehouse areas daily.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and execute special assignments as assigned by management including but not limited to assist with orientation and training seasonal help as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and write and do mathematical calculations to properly fill customer orders required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong self-accountability and capability to remain focused always ensuring efficient execution.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and leadership is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet shipping schedule deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift operators certification and operate a forklift is a must.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent warehousing experience is required.
  • Frequent use of a forklift to ensure the proper movement of materials being shipped to customers

Standard office and/or manufacturing environment. Ability to perform continuous physical effort (up to eight (8) hours) including frequent walking, standing, and lifting. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is constantly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms with medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 lbs. They may be frequently exposed to loud noises and bright light. Vision perception is normal for administrative duties.
