Cypress & Oak, the restaurant at The Delegate Hotel is hiring for a Lead Bartender.
Summary:
The Lead Bartender is responsible for ensuring the bar and its employees provide high-quality drinks and service. This position also helps guests be aware of and choose menu items, takes orders and makes guests feel taken care of during their visit/experience. Front of house staff is friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and works in a professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate genuine hospitality during every interaction with our guests; including greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, answering questions, thanking guests, and inviting them to return upon their departure.
- Welcoming guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preference, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
- Abide by all State and Federal Liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Trains other bartenders.
- Attend pre-shift meeting to review/communicate information regarding service, VIPs, and Specials.
- Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Record drink orders accurately into POS system.
- Maintaining a clean working environment, cleaning bar, tables, washing glasses, and equipment.
- Prepare the following before and during service; fruit, syrups, garnishes, glassware, bar equipment, and all other preparation tasks instructed by Beverage Manager, FOH Manager or General Manager.
- Respond promptly to guest requests in a polite and professional manner.
- Upsell drink and food items at the bar.
- Arrange glasses and bottles into an attractive and functional display.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or instructed by management.
- Answer guest questions about food and beverage preparation details and communicate specific guest needs to the kitchen and bar.
- Consistent productivity
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of standard drink recipes.
- 3 Years of Restaurant Bartending Experience.
- 3 Years of customer service experience.
