Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSUMMARY: The Cashier is responsible for the daily ticketing transactions for amusement park guests. The primary role of the position is to complete monetary transactions for ticketing and create great customer experiences by providing safe, clean venues, and friendly service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
  • Uses computerized equipment to complete sales of amusement park admission and ride tickets.
  • Provides on-site marketing and sale of amusement season passes.
  • Processes season passes via website and email, including but not limited to using computer software to print and mail.
  • Follows City Park conservancy’s cash handling policy and procedures
  • Maintains a cash drawer of at least $300 without variances.
  • Establishes and retains knowledge about ride height requirements to ensure rider safety.
  • Establishes and retains knowledge about General Park information in order to be first-line ambassadors of New Orleans City Park and its offerings.
  • Upsells season passes and Friends of City Park memberships.
  • Ensures ticket booth and work area is cleaned daily and stocked at all times.
  • Attends regular cashier meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, using units of American money.

The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Working weekends, some evenings, and holidays is mandatory. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals such as cleaning liquids, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually norm for an outdoor environment, with occasional elevated levels of sound during special events.
