ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for overseeing accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and fiscal database management.

The items listed above are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.

  • Supervises Finance Director, Accounting Manager, Client Trust Supervisor
  • Audits workflow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
  • Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities and ensures compliance
  • Substantiates and justifies expenditures per DCF and ChildNet policies
  • Prepares or supervises monthly journal entries
  • Prepares or supervises general ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Prepares monthly financial statements
  • Performs and reviews monthly and annual closing process
  • Leads annual audit and tax preparation
  • Recognizes, respects, and responds to unique, culturally defined needs of others served
Skills/ Requirements

Years of Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in Government or Fund Management preferred with supervisory responsibilities required.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred
